Recognition and Awards

Each year, Pi Delta Psi proudly recognizes the achievements of brothers across the country. These individuals have shown their dedication to the core values of Pi Delta Psi and have exemplified our motto; "Excellence Through Brotherhood". Awards are offered each academic year, providing individual recipients with scholarships and chapter recipients with a reduction in their yearly dues. To be considered for these awards, the president of each school must submit a letter of intent for their nominee at the end of each year. Nominations can be emailed to eboard@pideltapsi.com. Each school must include documentation and an explanation as to why each individual and/or chapter should be considered. Best of luck to all.

About the Brother of the Year Award aka the Odie Award

On the evening of Sunday, December 10th, 2000, David Wei Meng a.k.a. Odie of Cornell University passed away unexpectedly. David was an exemplary brother, a loving son, and a great friend. His dedication and love for the fraternity brought Pi Delta Psi to new levels during the short time that he was a brother. In honor of Odie's life, Pi Delta Psi has established the Odie Award, also referred to as the Brother of the Year Award.

The Brother of the Year Award is awarded to an individual who exemplifies the core values of Pi Delta Psi. This particular individual will have shown exceptional dedication to the fraternity, as well as outstanding contribution to the community. He will have shown the conduct of an honorable man and the poise of a great role model. It is a true honor for us to acknowledge a brother's dedication to the fraternity by presenting this award as a small token of appreciation, showing him what a true inspiration he is to us all.

About the Chapter of the Year Award

The distinguished Chapter of the Year Award is given to one chapter that has excelled in the areas of Academic Achievement, Cultural Awareness, Community Service, and Brotherhood. This award is only achieveable through the coordinated efforts of the Chapter's active membership. As such, the Chapter of the Year Award truly embodies our motto; "Excellence Through Brotherhood."

We encourage every Chapter to strive for this prestigious honor.

About the Academic Achievement Award

The Pi Delta Psi Academic Award is awarded to the individual who has achieved the highest academic excellence. As one of the four pillars of this fraternity, academic achievement is an important goal we strive to achieve. Through education we can help educate others and ourselves on the different Asian ethnicities, allowing us to overcome the obstacles set forth, therefore unifying us as a whole.
